Consider the Following

Parents have brought their teenagers and young adults to us for career guidance over the past 40 years. Many are now in jobs or careers they enjoy but had never even considered (or thought posible) before going through our Careeroute program. Read about some of our 'Careeroute grads' below:

  • Laura D. worked as a waitress after completing a degree in the Sciences -- through her Careeroute assessment & support she went on to begin a rewarding career as an Environmental Technologist.
  • Sharon H. also worked as a waitress after graduating from Queens University. Our
program allowed her to gain a Logistics position with one of Canada's leading employers.
  • Lynn W. became an Arson Investigator earning $90/hr.
  • Christine B. trained as a Navigations Officer and now works on ocean transit vessels.
  • Ken R. went into the Aviation field as a Pilot.
  • Kristian M. became a 3D Design Engineer.

When it comes personal life and work life, there are 3 key statements to remember: everyone has a right to feel they are someone of value, a right to do something worthwhile with their lives, and a right to have a someplace where they belong.

ICTR's Careeroute provides young adults with the insights and support to achieve success in those three critical aspects of life. This is the core of our program's guiding philosophy, and we are excited to provide people of all ages with powerful tools that create personal empowerment and achievement in the workplace.

Client support at ICTR is guided by a philosophy of personal empowerment. When considering your career or employment, you must be able to answer 'yes' to the following statements:

  • I am someone of value
  • I’m doing something worthwhile
  • I belong someplace
  • I’m doing some good
  • I’m making some money
  • I’m having some fun

Careeroute clients enjoy the reputation and experience that our firm has gained over many years of operation. They have entered occupations in many sectors: industry, manufacturing, education, medicine, hi-tech, public and private services.

PROVEN TECHNIQUES
& CREDIBILTY

The Careeroute program was perfected over a 30-year period and its techniques have been validated by regular assessment. Professor Judith Walters of Farleigh Dickinson University sent out career resumes to more than 300 companies, asking them to determine a starting salary. The hypothetical job candidates’ resumes were identical except that half used one of our techniques and half did not. Those using Careeroute had starting salaries 8-20% higher than those who didn’t. Dr. David R. Willings, an occupational psychologist, had this to say about our program: “Careeroute certainly stands on its own. I really must congratulate you on an exceptionally competent piece of scholarship.”
